We did it!!!!
Hello, and thanks for visiting our JOGLE website.
On June 21st 2010, Mat Dibb and Paul Evans will be embarking upon their most physical challenge to-date in order to raise as much money as possible for charitable causes.
We aim to cycle 962 miles, from John O Groats to Lands End - in only 10 days.
But first, some background.......
In 1990, Mat and Paul were introduced to each other by their then girlfriends who were sharing a flat.
They both quickly realised their common passion for cycling, and became regular cycling buddies.
Over the next two decades, Mat and Paul participated in many events organised both by themselves and by others.
These ranged from following the British leg of the World Rally Championship on mountain bikes, a tour of the Isle of Wight (braving hailstorms and 70mph head-winds), off-road cycling the full length of the South Downs Way from Eastbourne to Winchester - to being regular fancy dress participants in the London to Brighton, and Hampton Court to Hove (Capital to Coast) charity rides on their pre-war policemen's bikes.
Costumes in the latter two events have so far included Victorian bathing costumes, Frenchmen, Escaped convicts, Clowns, Mexicans, Surgeons and Nurses, and Super-heroes.
Enjoy the pictures below...
Between them, Paul and Mat have raised over £10,000 during the many years of charity fundraising on their bikes.
In 2009, Mat was considering how to celebrate his 40th Birthday in 2010. Naturally, it had to involve a bicycle somehow and the seed was sown for a plan to ride from end-to-end of Great Britain.
It took just one phone call to Paul to bring him on board - and the date was set...
